They go through bullying, rejection and abuse in childhood and, at times, later in life leading to a sense of loss of self-worth and confidence.
Most LGBTQIA+ individuals depend on the validation and approval of others to feel good about themselves. The need to be validated by others culminates in the addiction to dating/hook-up apps and social media. Not getting consistent attention & approval may lead to anxiety, depression and indulging in unhealthy coping mechanisms. Building one’s self-worth begins with accepting one’s authentic self i.e., alternative sexuality is natural, different and not a deviation. Therefore, embrace it wholeheartedly. This session is designed to offer practical tips to gain an understanding of self-love & acceptance, common mental health issues and techniques to be mentally fit and active.
LGBTQIA+ community members and anyone who wishes to support the mental well-being of this community.
